Grab the opportunity to create a short film that will be premiered on the big screen in Central London this summer.
You will work with a team and learn the basics of filmmaking—from interpreting a brief, to storyboarding, filming techniques and post-production.
The first three days (Wednesday 5th August – Friday 7th August) will be intensive workshops focusing on key areas of pre-production and post-production. The following week (Monday 10th August – Friday 14th August), you will take the principles you have learned and create a film based on a set brief. The only tool you will need is your smartphone.
This project is not just useful for if you’re planning to be the next Steven Spielberg (although we’d love to get a cheeky mention as an inspiration in your Oscar-winning speech, five years from now). It’s also relevant for anyone looking to gain skills in new areas. What you learn during this project can be applied to a number of different settings: from university assignments, to work presentations, visual CVs and much more.
Networks are also a key component and we will be bringing in award-winning professionals who work with major brands, such as Apple and Nike. They will show you the ropes, as well as come to support you, as your film is screened on Friday 28th August at the cinema in The Hospital Club—an exclusive members’ club in Central London.
