Governance, Strategy & Development
Patricia is an educationalist who works independently across the areas of grant making, learning and culture. She taught Humanities subjects in North London comprehensive schools for eight years and then in an American community college. She also worked in the American heritage sector. She was the first Head of Education at the National Trust, establishing and running its programme across the UK. Thereafter she was Director of the Paul Hamlyn Foundation for seven years- a major grant making trust with an emphasis on working against disadvantage through arts, social justice and education projects. She is a trustee of various charitable organisations including the Sage Music Centre (Gateshead), the Tate, the National Gallery, the Foundling Museum, the Chelsea Physic Garden, the Clore Social Leadership Programme and the Bristol Museums Trust, and professional adviser to a number of grant making bodies, including the Heritage Lottery Fund
Susan is a broadcaster, critic and academic. She has been a regular presenter on Radio Three Night Waves and more recently on Radio Four’s Literary Proms. She studied and taught English Language and Literature at Oxford as a Fellow of Magdalen College. She also taught at the University of Gdansk where she helped to start the Gdansk Theatre Foundation and she keeps a strong interest in Central and Eastern Europe. She has worked in the theatre and more recently in film (The Queen).
Finance & Accounting
Sydney is a London-based accountant. A partner of Rhodes & Rhodes, he specialises in working with artists and creatives. He’s also heavily involved in the designer/maker scene – on the board of Cockpit Studios and Contemporary Applied Arts. Sydney is a specialist who understands the pressures and challenges of working in the Creative Industries.
James is a parter at Farrer & Co who has particular expertise in art and heritage matters as well as cross border philanthropy and charitable structures.
Marketing & PR
Polly works at XIX Entertainment whose clients include David Beckham, Aloe Blacc and Lewis Hamilton.
